Overview
Taste Connection supplies the food industry with food ingredients,
providing taste packages that bring together precisely the right
elements of authentic taste experiences. These range from Mexican,
Asian and Mediterranean classics to exotic flavours such as Samarkand
Lemon Tagine and Vietnamese Beef Rendeng.
The Taste Connection team consists of the
three
founding directors and two additional staff members, and is distributed
across the country, with two team members in Gloucestershire and one in
each of Hampton Court, Bristol and Milton Keynes.
Financial control
Taste Connection faced a significant financial control issue, with the
directors living in three distant locations and spending on travel,
entertainment and related costs as their client and supplier base grew
rapidly.
Andrew Sainsbury, a director at Taste
Connection, explained:
"I found it hard to believe that the
simple
issue of processing expenses would cause us such a headache. As we're
rarely in the same room and because we incur travel and entertainment
costs continuously, this became a major issue, not just from a
paper-processing perspective but also from a financial control
perspective."
A complete solution
The Taste Connection team members now create, submit and approve their
expenses online using WebExpenses.
Their claims are populated automatically
with
their Barclaycard credit card spend and an interface provided by
WebExpenses allows the consolidated expense data to be posted
automatically to the relevant ledgers within their Sage Line 50
accounting software.
"The fact that it's web-based made it easy
to
implement, and because it integrates with both Barclaycard and Sage, it
has resolved our issue completely. I'm impressed that such
functionality was available to an organisation such as ours with only 5
staff."
