Introducing Expense Cards: The future of spend management

Expense management often consumes valuable time and resources, diverting focus from core business objectives. At Webexpenses, our mission is to eliminate the inefficiencies of traditional processes, allowing businesses to concentrate on growth. We are therefore pleased to announce the next evolution in spend management: the Expense Card.

Unprecedented choice and flexibility

Our Expense Card is more than just a corporate card; it offers unparalleled choice and flexibility. Recognising the diverse needs of businesses, it supports multiple payment methods seamlessly. Whether a dedicated card is preferred, existing corporate cards need integration, or out-of-pocket claims require management, the Webexpenses Mastercard accommodates all. While integrated expense card solutions exist, the ability to combine and manage these options centrally provides a unique advantage.

The system is efficient, straightforward and completely free for all Webexpenses users, making expense management effortless.

Automated spend tracking and policy enforcement

Our new Expense Cards enhance expense management by enabling real-time spend tracking at the point of purchase. When an employee uses an Expense Card, an expense record is automatically generated and receipts are matched instantly, providing immediate visibility of company spend. This streamlines the process by removing manual claims, eliminating reimbursement delays and allowing employees to spend within pre-set rules and limits.

Policies can be pre-configured within Webexpenses to restrict or block specific transaction types, such as unauthorised merchants or locations. Limits can also be applied—daily, weekly, or monthly—and customised at team or individual levels. By enforcing these limits and blocking unapproved purchases in real-time, Expense Cards prevent non-compliant spending proactively, thereby reducing administrative burdens and providing finance teams with peace of mind.

Simple setup and seamless experience

Expense Cards integrate directly within the Webexpenses platform. Employees issued a card can immediately download it to their mobile wallet for instant use. Cards can be pre-loaded with funds, removing the need for physical receipts, manual claim forms and delayed reimbursements.

Andrew May, CEO at Webexpenses, stated,

  • “Our new Expense Cards empower businesses to control spending with a simple, free and efficient solution. They enable employees while allowing finance teams to focus on growth rather than administration. With real-time tracking, policy enforcement, spending controls and seamless integration with accounting software, our Expense Cards simplify and secure the entire process. They facilitate expense management at the moment of transaction, not claim submission, saving valuable time and removing friction from financial operations.”
