How West Ham continue to blow bubbles and not budgets
West Ham United are a football team based in Stratford, East London. They were founded in 1895 as Thames Ironworks and renamed to West Ham United in 1900.
Competing in the Premier League, England’s top division, West Ham play their games at London Stadium after moving there in 2016 after previously playing at the Boleyn Ground.
Jenny Akroyd, Finance Manager, explains that before using Webexpenses, West Ham used a manual process. Jenny describes their process mentioning that they “had a printed out sheet that people filled out manually” going on to say that employees would “send that paper form off to their approver who would then check and sign the form”.

The club identified two major problems they were looking to resolve, expenses getting lost and greater clarity on whereabouts they were in the system.
Jenny illustrates that with Webexpenses they have “solved all those problems because it’s automated… we’ve got a full audit trail”.
